Isaac Walton

Head Coach and Director

15+ Years Experience

I began my coaching journey at Tawa Tennis Club after completing my Botany and Ecology degree at Otago University. It was exciting to work alongside my childhood best friend and mentor, Francis Glover, as we shared our passion for tennis. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of coaching at various clubs throughout the Wellington region, including Khandalla, Pukerua Bay, Ngatitoa, Paekakarirki, and Paraparaumu Beach. Coaching young players has truly been a joy, and I currently serve as the junior director for both Tawa Tennis Club and Waikanae Beach Tennis Club. I now coach full-time at Waikanae Beach, and I can’t imagine a better place to do it—the lifestyle and climate are unbeatable!

I had the opportunity to be coached by Francis Glover at Tawa Tennis Club. Now, I play interclub for the Premier Men’s 3 team for Whitby in the Wellington division. It’s a great experience being part of such a competitive environment!

I started playing tennis at the age of seven in Surrey England and been hooked ever since. I then went on to play for Canterbury Christchurch University. I was an assistant while in Surrey under a level 5 coach and was involved in improving and excelling up and coming young players from beginner to county players.

Now, I’m thrilled to be playing for the Waikanae Beach Premier 1 Women’s team in the Wellington division, and I also enjoy coaching and playing at the Renouf Tennis Centre. It’s been an exciting journey!
